Ethiopian Humanitarian National CSO Forum (EHNCF)

EHNCF is an independent and inclusive national platform established in the fourth quarter of 2024, following consultations with selected executive directors of local civil society organizations (CSOs).

Officially registered on March 6, 2025, EHNCF was created to advance the humanitarian localization agenda in Ethiopia.

With a current membership of over 63 local CSOs from across the country, the Forum provides a collaborative platform for strategic representation, advocacy, capacity sharing, joint planning, and collective action. EHNCF is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of humanitarian interventions through locally led and well-coordinated efforts.

As membership continues to grow and is expected to exceed 100 CSOs, a consultative meeting with executive directors will be organized to further strategize and define the Forumโ€™s key priorities moving forward.

To advocate for the humanitarian localization agenda by strengthening the capacity of humanitarian actors in localization and leadership, working collaboratively with key stakeholders, and representing its members across various platforms to promote locally led leadership in all humanitarian settings.

Empowering local civil society organizations in Ethiopia to lead humanitarian efforts, ensuring responses that are contextually relevant, community-driven, and sustainable.
